17th and 18th August'12-ABVP forwards its hand to help the Assam Victims.

In July 2012 the Indian state of Assam saw outbreaks of violence between indigenous Bodos and Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants.As of 8 August 2012, 77 people have died and over 400,000 people have been displaced, from almost 400 villages, taking shelter in 270 relief camps.Eleven people have been reported to be missing. On 27 July 2012, Assam's Cheif Minister Tarun Gogoi blamed the national government for "delay in army deployment to riot-hit areas".

In this critical movement all the Assam people who have been settled through out the country were disturbed due to the violent conditions which have been taken place in the Assam.They started moving to their native places in Assam through different kinds of transportation. It has became the shortage of transport facilities due to the migration of Assam people in huge number.









Government of India and with support with the State governments have started special trains to Assam from different parts of the country.Mainly most of the Assam people were migrating from south India. All the special trains starting from Bangalore were passed through the Visakhapatnam Railway Station.Their condition was truly horrible in travelling and lots of pain involved with women and children where there is lack of food and facilities in the trains.Many of the passengers have sat in the bathrooms due to the lack of place in the compartments.

ABVP members and Students have distributed food packets,drinking water packets,biscuits,buns etc.Assam passengers who received food packets and water thanked ABVP for the help and lending their hands to help the passengers. ABVP supplied food and water to all the 6 special trains being to Assam.The passengers at last gave slogans of Vande Mataram and Jai Bharat with an anxiety and with great force of sacred Indian feelings.




ABVP commented that this is the symobol of Unity among the Indians and asked all the Assam passengers to come back to their places as soon as possible to make it clear to the whole world that all the Indians are one.They have also contended that ABVP will be always welcome for even offering their lives for the mother country.Nearly 300 ABVP members have participated in the event.
